Version Update

The Staircase is keeping up with the times in its usual kinda-just-behind-the-times fashion and jumping to MT 3.16.

Among other things that really aren't very obvious (not even to me, yet), this means comments will have to come though TypeKey. Sorry for the bother, but spammers don't take a blacklist, no-follow futility, and rapid deletion for the fairly obvious clue it is.

Anything seems weird, let me know! Not sure how quickly I'll manage to fix it, but it's best if I know.

Colours on the comments and individual archives pages are black on a dark grey background, and are almost unreadable.

Yeah... I've noticed that and fixed it, though I seem to have lost any margins from the edge of the page in doing so. Seems not everything in the templates and style sheets updates cleanly.

Guess I do have something to do tonight and tomorrow other than catch up on DVDs...

There is something a bit odd about the 'preview' and 'post' buttons: extra characters (I'm on firefox.)

Everything else looks good.

Yeah, for some odd reason the default MT templates use special characters that don't replicate properly if you just cut the sample from their site and paste it into your installation. Or, at least, if you do so on a Mac they don't.

I've been hunting down and exterminating the little beasts all over the place. I think I just found the ones in the Preview and Post buttons.

Thanks for the spot!
